Golf....and other Life Lessons

Recently I have taken up golf..mostly because my kids have become interested and my husband who has always played loves taking them out to play. So I figured what the heck...this might be fun. Well it was the first couple of times at the driving range, the kids and husband took me out and they were all shocked at how well, and how far I could hit the ball. Well that did not last long!!!! My boys took lessons at the local course and then I decided to take class the next week.




I am not sure how or why getting that little ball into the hole can be so frustrating??? Well apparently as Cappy the golf pro says "golf is a game with too much information!" yes, it is! you have to be springy in the knees, hinge at the hips, keep your hands in the proper grip in a V shape, keep the seven iron at toe up, toe up, keep your head still, shift your weight, say cheeseburger, swing, and pose. Now...I can tell you no one is going to want to play golf with me...it would take them twelve hours to get through 18 holes by the time I remember all of this! Plus...I am the mommy that walks out of the house in the morning and needs to make sure I have put on pants......Can I really remember all of this!?



My kids thought I did awesome, and really that is all that matters! Let's face it...I am no lady golf pro, and I will never be, but my boys watching me out hit the 18 and 19 year old guys that were in the class with me was a priceless moment:)))

ArmyWife in an Air Force World

We have been on base(post for all you army folks:) for about two months now.  It has taken some getting used to but I think we finally have terms and protocol that we need to survive.  So far we have no neighbors and I have no friends...but my house is unpacked, decluttered, and it looks ok...would look better if I had more space!  We have a spouse orientation coming up this week...maybe I will meet some people???  This is the hardest part about moving...leaving the old friends behind and making new ones! 

Since I am not working and have all this time on my hands....I have found a few things to keep me busy! I am a fan of Amy Butler fabric and thought I would try this project:  http://amybutlerdesign.com/products/free_patterns.php
The LOVE and PEACE wall art are just too cute!  Working on it now...will post pictures when I complete! 

Sweet Home ALABAMA!

The Reeves family has made it to Alabama and getting acquainted with new neighbors, and making new friends.  Going to be living the life of a stay at home mom once again for the next year...really hoping to finish some projects and start some new things while I have the time off! 

Get to Bloggin'!

Ok, time has gotten away from me...hard to believe January is over tomorrow!!! I have been working on quite a few projects, both large and small.  We are a military family with orders to move this summer so the big clean out has begun!!!  Not sure what I am going to do with all the clothes, junk, and collections but we were very close to being overweight(well we were overweight but with the box and paper allowance..everything was good:) the last time and hubby has informed me the military home we will probably move into is much smaller than the current house we live in now!!! but such is the life of a military wife and like always I will find a way to make the furniture and curtains all fit:)

This project was fun, I bought no supplies except for the wooden blocks and since I save every scrap piece of scrapbook paper I have ever bought it was super cheap!

Holiday Craft....Yes, the Holidays are over:)

Forgive my lateness with this craft/post!  This is a craft my daughter and I made over the Holidays...I have quite a few of these lovely acorn sets but she is newly married and wanted her own set for her house!  Funny how they make fun of your stuff till they want their own:)

I cannot take credit for this creation....my mother has made these for years, they are beautiful with greenery underneath a cake platter, or in the middle of a centerpiece for a table.  I also apologize because I still had a few pieces of greenery out that were unable to fit in rubbermaid totes!  The lack of color is because I did not want to pull out Christmas decorations that I had just put up:)

We made these by purchasing plastic acorns at hobby lobby for a dollar, I will admit they were hard to find this year!  Silver spray paint is what was used as the base coat.  After drying we applied craft glue to the top of the acorn and silver glitter.  After drying completely, this set was adorned with mirrored beads....this is where you can get creative and use any type of bead, etc.  Hot glue is what we used to make the beads stick.  After the glue dried we sprayed with a glossy finish sealant, normally I use matte but these are on the sparkly side!
